The Bienen combined choirs celebrate the choral traditions of Sweden in a special performance featuring guest scholar Richard Sparks. The founder of the Seattle Pro Musica choir in 1973, Sparks served as principal conductor of the Pacific Northwest Bach Festival, conducted the Seattle Symphony Chorale, and taught at Pacific Lutheran University and the University of North Texas. He worked with the Swedish Radio Choir in 2002, 2007, and 2008, and his doctoral dissertation on Swedish a cappella music won the American Choral Directors Association’s Julius Herford Award.

About
Pick-Staiger is a 972-seat hall located in the Arts Circle on the Evanston campus of Northwestern University. The main lobby entrance for concerts is on the west side of the building (revolving and regular doors). Since its inception in 1975, the hall has functioned as both a classroom and performance facility for Bienen School of Music performing ensembles, faculty recitals, festivals, and professional guest artists.
